Buttercream Icing


This is my go to icing, perfect consistency for cup cakes


For my 3-tier cake it takes at least 6 batches of this recipe to frost the cake in preparation for a fondant layer (could have used more)


Ingredients

½ cup unsalted butter

1½ teaspoon extract (big fan of almond, but orange and vanilla is great too)

2 cups of sifted castor sugar

2 tablespoons milk

3 drops of food coloring (if necessary)


Directions

Chuck everything in the kitchen-aid and hit go. Fill a piping bag and decorate anything that doesn't loudly object
