Unexpected Places

This was one of those project that's been on the short list since we moved into this house. The space above the master bed was definitely in need of something but we couldn't decide on what should go up there. Framed prints didn't work out - we couldn't decide on anything, couldn't find anything that wasn't too busy, and a print that size costs a fortune.

When we were designing the nursery we started to look at putting quotes on the wall. Winnie the Pooh was a front runner with... “Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”  ― A.A. Milne We ended up skipping the quotes altogether in the baby's room but in the process we came across this on amazon of all places. Life Takes You to Unexpected Places, Love Takes You Home And so, for a whopping $15 we're off! This is the before shot.

From start to finish, this took about 25 minutes. I just grabbed a tape measure, level and painters tape from the work room and a dough scraper from the kitchen.

Then, following the manufacturers directions I taped the sheet to the wall starting at the center. First, using the tape measure to get it properly centered between the two windows. Then switching to the level to get it straight. Didn't take more than about 5 minutes to get it into position - I'd been expecting that to be much more time consuming.

Then, using the scraper, I applied pressure to the text and began to peel back the backing paper. Piece of cake!

And 'Ta Da!'.
